William Kyle Boone,

William Kyle Boone Jr., 84, of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Mr. Boone was a Life Member of the Haygood United Methodist Men of Haygood United Methodist Church. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving from 1947-1951, he served in civil service with tours with the Naval Air Rework Facility, United States Army Nike Hercules Program, and FASOTRAGRULANT Detachment, NAS Oceana. In 1997, he became a Field Engineering Representative at the Naval Training Equipment Center in the Regional Office East Coast Field. Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mae Dix Boone. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Sherry Boone of Buchanan; grandchildren, Danielle Mitchell and Kyle and Murri Boone; great-grandchildren, Damien and Briana Mitchell; and sister, Donna Lewis, of Asheville, N.C. Mr. Boone's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Valley View Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Boone officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. The family will receive friends Friday, January 3, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan 254-3000.
