William "Bernie" Harris

William Burnett (Bernie) Harris, 82, of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents. William Thomas and Norma Karnes Harris, brother, Jacob C. Harris, and sister, Mary Ann Harris. He attended Buchanan High School and farmed along with his brothers all of his life. He is survived by his brother, Robert Anderson Harris of Buchanan; and several cousins. The family will receive friends at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at 3 pm, Sunday, October 16, 2011 in the Karnes Family Cemetery located on Greyledge Road, Buchanan with Rev, Leonard Southern officiating.
