Virginia Coffman Prease

Virginia Coffman Prease, 85, of Buchanan, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Prease; parents, William Kenton and Ida Garst Coffman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary C. and Melvin Bryant, Edna C. and Grey Duncan; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Gertrude Coffman, Russell and Grace Coffman, Percy Coffman, Clarence Coffman. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. She was a longtime member of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, a graduate of Ruth Cornette School of Business, and held several secretarial/bookkeeping postitions including Nelson Roanoke Hardware, Botetourt County Farm Bureau, and Prease Farm. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Brenda P. McCullough, Karen P. and L.C. Harold, son, Michael J. Prease all of Buchanan; grandchildren, Elaina and Jonathan Carderelli, Kenton and Sharon McCullough, Kristina and Alex Lima; great-grandchildren, Alyson and Alexis McCullough, Micah Carderelli, Vanessa Lima; brother and sisters-in-law, Robert D. and Carolyn R. Coffman, Georgia Coffman, Hazel D. Prease, Lydia F. Prease, Mildred G. Prease, Lois S. Prease; cousins, Geraldine Plunkett, Ralph Plunkett, Mary Frances Jacobs, Thelma Naff, Rebecca Jones; special friends, Louise Kessler and Rosalie Williamson, numerous nieces, nephews, special friends, church family, and caregivers, B. Sue Thomas and Whitney Wampler. Funeral Services will be held 2 pm Thursday, January 20, 2011 in Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Morris Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 206, Buchanan, VA 24066. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan, 540-254-3000.
