Vera Hood Anderson

Vera “Punch” Hood Anderson, 72, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses and Helen Hood; and brothers, Alexis and William Hood.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Norvel Anderson; sons, Lamara Anderson and wife, Sara; and Donovan Anderson; daughter from another mother, Melissa Marie Washington; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shelia, Evette, Tara, Yenena, and Alysha Hood; brothers, Phil, Guy, Aaron (Adriana Smith), Tristan, and Jerome Hood; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 12-1pm with memorial services at 1pm on Friday, October 4, 2024 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Elder Marvin E. Jones officiating.
