Thomas Malcolm Helms

Thomas Malcolm "Tommy" Helms, Sr., 69, of Buchanan, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016. Tommy was a retired truck driver for General Shale and Robertson-Fowler. He loved to hunt and was a member of the Buckhorn Hunt Club. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Barbara Silvea Helms; sons and daughters-in-law, Mickey and Glenda Helms, Michael and Mechele Helms, all of Buchanan; grandchildren, Santana, Chris, Michael, and Anna; great-granddaughters, Liliana, Elizabeth, and Natalie; brother, Donald Helms of Buchanan; sisters, Dellia H. Walker of Boones Mill; cousins, Donald M. and Violet Helms; and the GIRLS at Golden Corral in Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 8, 2016, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 pm at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, Va. (540-254-3000)
