Thelma Goode Ransone

Thelma Goode Ransone, 95, of Buchanan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 4, 2016. Thelma graduated from Buchanan High School in 1939, she enjoyed a long satisfying career, retiring in 1987 from James River Limestone. She was a lifelong member of Buchanan Baptist Church and the Hazel Moon Circle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everette Dabney and Gladys Lucille Markham Goode; husband of 66 years, Harvey Allen Ransone; and sister, Juanita Goode Lipes. She is survived by beloved daughter and son-in-law, Beth and David Lipes; and grandsons, Justin Lipes and Rachel Eppling, Dalton and Alisha Lipes; a devoted brother and sister-in-law, Robert L. and Betty Goode; sister-in-laws, Isabelle Ransone Watts and Edna Ransone; very special niece, Kitty Sue Booze; loving caregiver and friend, Ruth Dudley; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of the doctors and nurses of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their expert care and dedication to Thelma during her illness. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Buchanan Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Buchanan. The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 540-254-3000.
