Lorrine Elizabeth “Susie” Newcomb, 82, of Buchanan, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Carte; parents, Robert Dewitt and Gladys Ethel Hawkins Newcomb; brothers, Pete and Hook Newcomb; sisters, Jean Harper, Dovie Ramsey, and Edna Smith. Susie enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, beach, and hairstyling. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Harris; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Lorrie Harris; grandchildren, Chris and Teresa Deisher, Amanda Harris, Jennifer Harris, Patrick and Kelli Tolley, and Samantha Harris; nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 2 to 3 pm with her funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, 24066 with Rev. Michael Tabor officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
