Robert Edward Dooley

Robert Edward Dooley, 69, of Buchanan, passed away on November 24, 2022. Robert loved camping, four-wheeling, and tinkering with lawnmowers. He had retired as a mechanic from Lawrence Transfer after 33 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Marshall Dooley, Sr. and Mae Myers Dooley; and brothers, Marshall “Junior”, Boyd, and Tommy Dooley. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Vicky Crowder Dooley; daughters, Michelle and Ronnie Yopp, Deborah and Michael Ayers, Sharon and Doyle Guilliams; brothers, Kenneth and Robin Dooley, Lewis “Buddy” and Nancy Dooley, and Donald and Sandy Dooley; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm. Robert’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, November 28, 2022 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, Va. with I. Ray Sloan officiating. Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery Fincastle. A reception will follow at the Greenwood Restaurant, Troutville.
