Nadine Kern Bowers

Nadine Kern Bowers, 91, of Eagle Rock, joined her Heavenly Father Wednesday, February 11, 2015. She was the last of eleven children born to Nicholas H. and Nannie Fink Kern. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo Bowers. Nadine was a member of the Mt. Bethel Church of the Brethren where she served her Lord as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and deaconess. Nadine worked many years at Kenrose, she also was a cook at the Peaks of Otter and the Botetourt County Jail. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Bryant and husband, David of Eagle Rock; Nancy Mundy and her husband, Charles of Buchanan; sons, David Bowers and wife, Hazel; Randy Bowers all of Eagle Rock; sister-in-law, Hazel Kern of Eagle Rock; grandchildren, Mark (Della) Bryant, Lea (Patrick) Keenan, Justin (C.J.) Bowers, Marcia (Joel) Morgan, Heather (Abraham) Moreno, Nikkie Bowers; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful weekly visitors, Rose Barger, Frances Painter, and Nancy Britt. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Sunday, February 15, 2015 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt with the Rev. Zachary Hatcher officiating assisted by Nancy Britt. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2pm, Sunday before the service. The family expresses special thanks to the caregivers and nursing staff at Carrington Place.
