Melvin Richard Sloan, 77, of Buchanan, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015. Surviving include his wife of 54 years, Mildred "Millie" McDaniel Sloan; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Roy Linkenhoker, Sherry and Jerry Nelson, all of Buchanan; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery~Buchanan. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm at the funeral home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan 540-254-3000
