Melvin Leroy Childress

Melvin Leroy Childress, 82, of Buchanan, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Childress; and eight brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (PeeWee Beckner) Childress; son, Wendell (Missy Boxley) Childress; grandchildren, Kris and Katie Swartz, Amber and Charlie Carter, Kelsey (Mathew Andrews) Swartz; great-grandson, Parker; sister, Susan Basciano; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Thursday, February 14, 2019 in Springwood Baptist Church. Interment will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan.
