Melva Henderson Washington, 72, of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011. Survivors include her husband, Calvin Washington, Jr.; children and spouse, Deborah (Emmit) Jones, Pam Lee, John, Thomas, Mark, and Judge Washington; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sisters, Fayleen Haskins, Shirley Henderson, Doris Gillison, Macil Clayborne; brother, Jeremiah Henderson; and former husband, John Washington, Sr. Funeral Services will be held 2 pm Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the funeral home with Elder Randall Jackson, presiding, and Rev. Ivory Morton, eulogist. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Buchanan. Visitation will be held one hour prior at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, 540-254-3000.
