Martha Myers Hayslett

Martha Ann Myers Hayslett, 74, of Clifton Forge, formerly of Gala, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Charles Edward Hayslett; and parents Frank, Jr. and Dorothy Simmons Myers.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Amanda Hayslett; daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Derek Wiley; grandchildren, Brooklyn Hayslett, Ryan Wiley and Declan Wiley; uncles Thomas Myers and Robert “Bobby” (Linda) Simmons; aunts, Alice Wilkenson, Mary Simmons, Robin Simmons, and Gertrude Simmons; and numerous cousins.

Martha was a graduate of Dabney S. Lancaster Community College where she earned her business degree. Throughout her career, she worked as an insurance billing specialist at various doctors’ offices around the Alleghany Highlands. She met many folks through this line of work over the years.

Martha was a member of the United Methodist Church. She attended Iron Gate and Eagle Rock United Methodist Churches and remained devoted to her faith throughout her entire life. Martha never met a stranger, she either knew you, was related to you, or quickly became a friend. Her friendly personality and warm smile were welcoming, something that all who met her could immediately recognize. Of all the people she knew, the nearest and dearest to her heart were her children and her grandchildren. She was constantly telling her friends stories about what her kids had done or something funny her grandson said. She was a proud Mom and Granny, always interested in whatever was going on in their active lives. Martha’s support, encouragement, and love of her family and friends will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday, April 28, 2026 in the Eagle Rock Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held 11 am Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the Eagle Rock Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home.
