Lewis "Hook" Dewitt Newcomb

Lewis Dewitt "Hook" Newcomb, 75, of Buchanan, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores McAllister Newcomb; parents, Robert Dewitt and Ethel Hawkins Newcomb; brother, George Cox; and sister, Jean Harper. Hook is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Darryl Newcomb, Rob and Sandy Newcomb, and Dana and Kristine Newcomb, all of Buchanan, Jamie and Missy Henry of Bedford; grandchildren, Jeremy, Matthew, Mallory, Tyler, Andrew, Little Jamie, and Skylar; great-granddaughter, Gabriella; brothers and sisters, Edna Cox of Buena Vista, Pete Newcomb and Susie Newcomb of Buchanan, and Dovie Ramsey of Natural Bridge Station. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, VA 540-254-3000. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 21, 2017 in Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Rev. Michael Tabor officiating.
