Kenneth Ancel Starnes

Kenneth Ancel Starnes, 79, of Moneta, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Rex Starnes and Della Mae Starnes; daughter, Tammy Long; two brothers; and 3 sisters.

He worked as a landscaper for Greenbrier Farms, and then he went to work for Maryland-Virginia Milk Producers for 28 years in Laurel, MD. In 2004, Kenneth and his wife, Judy, moved to Moneta, Virginia. He then went on to work at Bernard’s Landing Resort for 16 years.

Kenneth enjoyed camping, listening to bluegrass, and mowing his lawn. He was a simple man, kind to his neighbors and loved his family dearly.

Left to cherish Kenneth’s memory are his wife of 55 years, Judy Starnes; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Brian Coe, Sr.; grandson, Brian Coe, Jr.; great-grandson, Logan Chrisjohn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 3 pm on Friday, July 31, 2026, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Kenneth’s life will follow at 3 pm in the chapel, with Mr. Ray Sloan officiating.
