Joseph King

Joseph "Joey" Vernon King, 67, of Buchanan, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank King and Joyce Terry King; and brother, Bobby King.

Joey was a sawmill operator working at various mills. He was an avid bear hunter and enjoyed watching many sports especially the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and Nascar drivers such as Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott.

He is survived by his daughter, Melody King; son, Joey King; grandchildren, Bryar King and Ella Cass; sisters, Brenda Dudley, Debbie Painter, and Patty Higgins; brothers, Tommy, Mike, and Marty King; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-7pm with memorial services at 7pm, Friday, May 30, 2025 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Pastor Zack Tabor officiating.
