John Ellis Walker, 90, of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Ellis was a graduate of Buchanan High School, a US Navy veteran serving during WW II in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres, he retired in 1985 from Burlington Industries Glasgow, a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, and enjoyed hunting, reading, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Dollman Walker; parents, Nathan and Ida Belle Rickman Walker; sisters, Mabel, Lucille, Bernice, Mary, and Lois; brothers, William, Herman, Alvin, Lloyd, and Morris; and son-in-law, Phillip Bolt. Survivors include his daughter, Faye Walker Bolt of Buchanan; granddaughter, Deedi (Paul) Trabosh; great-grandson, Nicholas Trabosh; brother-in-law, Kenneth Broughman; sister-in-law, Martha Dollman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ellis' Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, September 6, 2013 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Rev. Kelly Dampeer officiating.
