Jimmy Clinton Mundy, Sr.

Jimmy Clinton Mundy, Sr., 80, of Buchanan, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. He was preceded in death by parents, Roy Clinton “Mutt” Mundy and Ethel Charlene Nuckoles Mundy; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Sonny Spangler; brother, Tommy Mundy; and sister, Charlene Reynolds.

Jimmy worked at Blue Ridge Transfer and the Roanoke Cement Plant as an equipment operator. His hobbies included Harley Davidson Motorcycles and playing golf. Jimmy also loved Myrtle Beach, the seafood that went along with it, and banana splits.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon Mundy; children, Veronica Sue Lenherr and husband, Michael, Jimmy Clinton Mundy, Jr. and wife, Wendi, Amanda Leigh Thornhill and husband, Jason; siblings, Lynda Miller and special friend, Joe Clemmer, Frank Mundy and wife, Linda; special brother-in-law, Bernie Reynolds; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 2 to 4 pm in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home.
