George "Mike" "Mater" Michael Cox

George “Mike” “Mater” Michael Cox, 69, of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Smith Eubank and step-father, Dick Eubank; sister, Mary Cox; half-brothers, Eddie, Tony, and Clarence Stinnett.

Mater loved to fish, be on the river, and his dog “Lil Bit”. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, and games with his friends. He never met a stranger, talked to everyone with a smile on his face, and joy ride on his scooter.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and James Miller; grandson, Jake Compton and wife, Tiffany; great-granddaughter, Braylee Compton; sister, Nancy Deacon; and numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece, Ashton.
