Dennis Gary Cronise

Dennis Gary Cronise, 70, of Buchanan, Virginia, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, July 14, 2025. Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Linda Cronise; and father, Curtis Loraine Cronise.

Gary grew up in Botetourt County and was a 1973 graduate of James River High School. He worked as a plumber for many businesses, giving him the opportunity to meet a lot of people. Gary was also an avid photographer in the community and loved it when he got to photograph NASCAR races from the pits. In addition to NASCAR, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and nature in general.

Gary is survived by the current love of his life, Australian Shepherd, Mick; mother, Connie Leffel Cronise; siblings, Lee (Cathy) Cronise, David Cronise, Lori Rierson, and Sally Shelor; nieces, Suzanne Cronise, Amber (Kyle) Potter, and Morgan Meddings (Michael); nephew, KJ Kitts (Belinda); and goddaughter, Olivia Grace Ellis.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 2 pm, in the sanctuary of Wheatland Lutheran Church, with Pastor Chuck Miller and Pastor Tim Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 pm before the service.
