Damon “Cap” Leroy Shelton, Sr., 76, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezekial and Betty Shelton; brother, Grat Shelton; and grandson, Tristan Shelton.
He was a butcher at the Kroger meat plant in Salem and a member of the House of Prayer.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Shelton; sons and daughters-in-law, Damon, Jr. and Melinda Shelton, Michael and Charlotte Shelton; Danny and Jamie Shelton; grandchildren, Danielle (Charles) Corner, Kyle Shelton, and Tanner Shelton; great-grandsons, Christian and Russell Corner; step-grandchildren, Jay, Logan, and Daniel; sisters and brother-in-law, Dena and Glenn Priddy and Brenda Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 18, 2024 from 1-2pm with memorial services at 2pm in the House of Prayer, 2521 Portland Ave NW, Roanoke with Pastors Michael and Danny Shelton officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.botetourtfuneralhome.com or 540-254-3000
