Barbara Simpkins

Barbara Jean Carter Simpkins, 69, of Buchanan, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hubert Simpkins; and her parents, William R. and Janet Faye Webb Carter; brother, William R. Carter, Jr.; and Sister, Theresa Marie Carter Blevins. Barbara was co-owner of Fireside Books of Buchanan and a retired insurance adjuster. She loved going to the beach, Williamsburg, and hunting for books.

Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Alice Carter; sister, Rose Ellen Carter; Aunt and Uncle, Roger and Teresa Webb; nephews, Jesse and Tim Carter, Joshua Carter and wife, Jeri, Bradley Blevins; great nephews, Cole and Jaxxon Carter, and Jameson Blevins; and great nieces. June and Thea Blevins; special dear friend, Jackie Bussey; special dog, Annie; and her friends at Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company.
